Jurie Snyman

Jurie is a hard-hitting all-rounder, originally from the Easterns Province but now playing for Mpumalanga in the South African Provincial competition. A prodigious talent at Schoolboy level, Jurie seems to have been around an eternity since his debut at First Class level as a 17 year old in 2012. A Left-handed Opener, the solidly built young man has put in some quality performances in both First Class & List A cricket with a top score of 150 in FC Cricket. A better than useful Off-Spinner, Jurie’s provincial skipper has felt confident enough to throw him the ball on a number of occasions to which he has given a solid account of himself.

With five seasons of previous UK experience, it all started with a 2015 stint with Denby CC in the ECB Derbyshire Premier League, where he cracked 1178 runs @ 50+, Jurie joined Poloc CC for 2016-18 in Glasgow where he pummelled over 2700 runs and picked up 79 wickets in his three seasons with the Scottish club.

In summer 2019, Jurie joined Rush CC in the Leinster League in the Republic of Ireland. Not his mot prolific year on the pitch, he did show the Irish what he is capable of with a brutal display against Clontarf CC, scoring 178* in the Senior League Cup. His also chipped in with 20 wickets in a short season due to the new trial structure put in place for this summer.

In summer 2021, Jurie linked with Moorside CC in the Greater Manchester Premier League and was again, typically brutal. After scoring 832 runs @ 46.22 in all formats with a best of 129 (51). He also contributed with the ball, collecting 33 wickets @ 22.87 with a best of 4-25.

Jurie will be a fantastic pick up for a UK club seeking a quality Top Order Batsman and spinner with a proven track record in the UK for next summer that is also a strong coach.
