Kalhara Senarathne

Kalhara is a young but talented right arm off spinner currently playing first class cricket in Sri Lanka for Ragama CC. He started his cricketing career at the Kirindiwela central college where he represented all age groups upto Under 17 level. He then joined St Anthony’s college in Katugastthota and represented the first team for 2 years. In his first year for the college he took 61 wickets, this astonishing haul saw him selected to play for the Sri Lankan under 19 team in the 2018 Asia cup to play against India which was held in Bangladesh.

In the first match of the Asia cup game against India he produced an excellent performance taking 6 Indian wickets. These impressive displays saw Sri Lanka finish runner up in the tournament. He then returned for his 2nd college year taking 71 wickets in 19 matches and was awarded the prestigious Anthonion Eagle award.

He made his first class debut in December 2018 and took the set up in level by storm snaring 9 wickets in his first 2 matches. He has continued to be a regular wicket taker now with the powerful Ragama CC side. These excellent displays saw him selected in a Sri Lanka A warm up match against Ireland.

A player with a very big future ahead of him and very highly thought of he would be an excellent spin bowling option to any club offering a competitive standard of cricket.
