Kavindu Nirmana is an exciting young seam-bowling All-rounder from Galle in Southern Sri Lanka. A hard-hitting Right-hander suited to the middle order, Kavindu is a nippy right-arm medium fast seamer. Kavindu was a star for Richmond College, one of the country’s most prestigious cricket schools, before making his professional debut for Saracens Sports Club in 2021, against his new club, Chilaw Marians.
Off the back of a stellar school career, which included Southern Province selection, Kavindu was included in the Sri Lanka U19 squad and was named the best all-rounder in the U19 regional competition in 2021. He represented Negombo throughout the SL Domestic Under-23 competition before the move to Chilaw in 2023.
His professional career, for the most part, got off to an inauspicious start. However he made his mark in the 2023 SLC Major Clubs T20 picking up 10 wickets @ 15.10 with a best of 4-36 against SL Air Force.
Seeking his first season in the UK in 2025, Kavindu will be an exciting pick up for any club seeking a talented and genuine seam-bowling all-rounder for next summer.
