Kerwin Mungroo is a highly-talented, domineering fast bowler from Durban, South Africa. Standing at 6ft 6in, Kerwin is a frightful sight when in full flight. A right-arm Seamer that clocks in at better than 80mph regularly, he naturally gets awkward bounce from his huge frame. He is also, at club level, a more than useful Right-handed Batsman that can hit a very long ball.

A regular feature in the various Kwa-Zulu Natal age group sides before heading off to University, Kerwin committed his focus on his studies before returning to Natal where it all began for him, accepting a contract to re-join his home province. He would break into the first class side a month prior to his first UK stint in 2016.

He joined Wem CC in the Shropshire Premier Division and his impact was immediate. Arriving at the crease at 51-4, he scored 33 (49) and was last man out as his new club scrapped their way to 114. After an innocuous first couple of overs, Kerwin found his range and proceed to dismantle Albrighton CC, collecting 8-40 as they routed their first round foe’s for just 89. He would better this just a fortnight later with 8-15 against Forton CC. His 2022 stint with Camborne CC was cruelly cut short by an ankle injury in the first game and after just 5 overs.

He located to the North West Province in 2022-23 and has made himself a regular in the provincial side immediately. Kerwin was picked up in the 2018 Mzansi Super League Draft by the Paarl Rocks. In his 2nd game for the Rocks, he picked up Chris Gayle and Reeza Hendricks in the space of 4 balls having been tossed the new ball by Faf du PLessis. Kerwin also represented the SA Emerging Players on their tour of Sri Lanka in 2018.

Summer 2023 saw Kerwin head north, to Leyland CC in the ECB Northern Premier League and he was excellent in a season that was cut short with an early domestic return to SA. His 40 wickets @ 14.13 was an exceptional return and could have ended up a huge haul with a longer stay.

Seeking a return to the UK this summer, Kerwin will be a popular choice for clubs seeking a big, strong fast bowler that bowls with good pace and has not only had experience in the UK but success.
