Lesego Senokwane is an experienced all-rounder from Klerksdorp, South Africa. A gifted right-handed opening Batsman, Lesego is also a very tidy but sparingly used Right-arm Off Spinner. Currently contracted to the North West Dragons, he debuted for the Senior Province at just 17, with a First Class debut against South Western Districts and a One-Day debut that same week.
Identified as a genuine all-round talent from a young age, Lesego was first selected to represent his native North West Province at the age of 13. He would progress through the age groups at each step of the way and at 16 was selected for the first of 3 appearances at the prestigious Khaya Majola Coke Week National U19 championships. His junior career was capped off with selection for the South African U19 side.
Lesego would go on to represent the Cricket South Africa Franchise Colts side as well as the University Sports South Africa side to contest the Tri-Series against the South African Emerging Players and touring Sri Lankan Emerging players sides. He has gone on to play over 100 professional matches since his debut.
In summer 2022, Lesego ventured to the UK for the first tine, joining Hatherley & Reddings CC in the West of England League, his first foray into Overseas Cricket. Despite an early return home, Lesego had scored 817 runs @ 48.06 with a best of 160 (134) against Warminster CC. He also chimed in with 13 wickets @ 18.92 with a best of 3-15.
Lesego returned in 2023 and his season was frustratingly cut short, again, when the club were in a great position off the back of his 697 runs @ 53.62, which was another impressive return. He returned in summer 2024, joining Golden Hill CC in the WEPL, compiling 551 runs and bagging 22 wickets in 18 games.
Seeking a return to the UK next summer, Lesego will be an excellent pick up for any UK club seeking a quality top order batsman that can contribute with better than useful off-spin next summer.
