Liam Dudding is a skillful seam bowler originally from Hamilton, New Zealand but now based in Wellington. A Right-arm Fast/Medium seamer that swings the ball both ways, he is also a Right-handed lower order Batsman that can hit a clean ball and provide some late-order resistance. Liam is currently contracted to the Wellington Firebirds having spent the first part of his career with his native Central Districts.

A Hawke’s Bay representative, he pushed his way into the Central Districts side off the back of some good performances in the Hawke Cup and Central Districts A side in late 2015. He made his professional debut for the Stags in March 2016 against Northern Districts, picking up three wickets.

Whilst his appearances over the first 8 seasons of his career were very sporadic and seldom in the white-ball game, Liam really hit his straps in summer 2022-23 with the red-ball and over the last 2 years has bagged 44 wickets @ 19.93 with a career best 5-32 against Otago.

He maintained his presence in the Hawke’s Bay side and overall, has been one of their most successful bowlers of the modern era, with 140 wickets @ 14.84 including a career best 7-16 against Manawatu as they were rolled for just 41.

Having caught his 2nd wind and hitting his peak as so many seamers do around the 30-years old mark, Liam is sought his first season abroad in 2025, joining Harpenden CC in the ECB Herts Premier League. As the club stormed to the league title, Liam was sound, with 36 wickets @ 20.36.

A newly qualified New Zealand Cricket Level One coach, Liam will head to the UK in the form of his life and be a fantastic pick up for any UK club seeking a dangerous new ball bowler for next summer.
