Luke Beaufort is a highly-regarded young talent from Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Luke is a hard-hitting Right-handed Top/Middle Order Batsman that is also a very competent Wicket-Keeper, who can also bowl Off-Spin & Medium Pace.

Schooled at the prestigious Grey High School, Luke was the 1st XI captain and a standout performer for the school. His performances ultimately led to not only Eastern Province selection, whom he represented from U13 through to U19 level, Captaining the U19 side in 2019. Luke represented the province at consecutive Khaya Majola National U19 championships as well as being selected for the Warriors Cubs side. At just 17, he was selected to represent the South African U19 side and over the 2018-19 & 2019-20 seasons, represented his country on 22 occasions including the 2020 ICC U19 World Cup held in SA.

His rise to the national U19 World Cup side was no real surprise, having won Player of the Tournament at the Khaya Majola Week as well Batsman of the Tournament in 2019. He was honoured by being named captain of the SA Schools team that managed to beat the SA Colts XI following the 2019-20 U19 Championships. He’d been the competition’s top run scorer with 316 runs @ 79.00 with one Hundred and two half-centuries. The high goals he had set himself from a very young age had finally yielded the desired outcomes. Luke has scored 4 x Half-Centuries for the South African Under 19 side with two of those coming at the 2020 ICC U19 World Cup.

He was signed to the Free State Knights for the 2023-24 summer and whilst he didn’t appear in their limited fixtures in the first part of the season, he is targeting the T20 tournament as a chance to make his mark on domestic cricket

Luke has one previous season of UK experience, having joined Hinton Charterhouse CC in the WEPL League for summer 2023. Luke was nothing short of exceptional, scoring 1823 runs, bagging 20 wickets and collecting 25 dismissals with the gloves. We can safely say there are not too many more well-rounded performers like that doing the rounds.

Luke is looking to return to the UK next summer and will be a good pick up for a club seeking a very promising young player that seems to just have it all. Luke will be travelling with his partner who will be working in the UK and also holds a UK Ancestry Visa.
