Luke is a high class young prospect from Durban in South Africa. A patient right-handed Top order batsman, Luke is also a better than useful slow-left arm spinner. A provincial representative from the age of 10, Luke has been a mainstay of the Natal age group teams ever since, having captained his province at U13, U15 & U17 level.

Prolific at each level, Luke has been earmarked for progression from a young age and despite a move to New Zealand for the 2015-16 Summer, found himself quickly back in the Dolphins set up upon his return in early 2016. His late season flurry of runs, 258 of them @ 86.00 including a stellar 141 (217) against the Lions for the Dolphins Colts XI led to selection for the SA Colts, which he had the honour of captaining in a 3-way series with the USSA & SA Rural XI’s respectively. Luke has gone on to become a regular for KZN Inland in the South African domestic competitions, particularly impressing in 50-over cricket.

After a quality first outing with Great Witchingham CC in the ECB East Anglian Premier League in summer 2017, having scored 646 league runs @ 71.78 and took an impressive 31 league wickets @ 18.77, he returned to the UK in 2018, joining ECB Kent Premier League club, Sevenoaks Vine. He once again produced the goods, scoring 620 runs @ 77.50 and chipping in with 22 wickets at 22.77.

Luke returned to Sevenoaks Vine CC in 2019 and ultimately took over as 1st XI skipper, such was his respect in the changing room. Not as prolific, Luke was still a big contributor, finishing the season with 548 runs @ 39.14 and 17 wickets @ 29.18. He back this up in 2021 with 650 runs @ 46.43 and chiming in with 16 wickets.

A strong character with natural leadership qualities, Luke is seeking a further return to the UK next summer and will no doubt be a popular choice for clubs seeking a high-end, promising, young Top Order Batsman for next summer that is a genuine contributor with the ball.
