Malka Madusanka is a crafty Spinner from Kadawatha, Sri Lanka. A Left-handed Middle/Lower Order Batsman, not known for his batting exploits but a nice clean hitter of the ball, his Slow Left-arm Orthodox has been incredibly effective across all three formats of the games since he debuted for the Sri Lankan Army Sports club as a 22-year old in December 2017.
A wicketless First Class debut was followed swiftly by what still remains career best figures of 7-78, against Badureliya. His first season in the big time saw him return 22 wickets @ 17.31, a wonderful start but he couldn’t maintain the rage, as his red ball performances dwindled. He slipped from the pro scene and after 2-year hiatus, returned to action with Burgher RC in the Major Clubs Limited Overs Tournament.
His 15 wickets @ 17.06 in the one-dayers and 5 wickets @ 8.80 in the T20 saw him earn a call up to the Burgher First Class team and receive a new job offer with Colts CC picking up 12 wickets @ 19.25 in 8 games.
Seeking his first season in the UK in 2025, Malka will be a good pick up for any club seeking a genuine wicket-taking Slow Left-arm Spinner for next summer.
