Michael Snedden

Michael Snedden is a tall right-arm fast bowler originally from Auckland, New Zealand. An energetic seamer that generates good pace and bounce, Michael is also a hard-hitting lower order batsman that is currently contracted to the Wellington Firebirds in the New Zealand Domestic system. He plays his club cricket for Karori CC in the Wellington Premier Cricket Competition.

From a New Zealand Cricket family dynasty, Michael has done the hard yards to manufacture himself a solid Cricket career, having been somewhat of a late bloomer in the professional scene by modern standards. Having plied his trade for Otago through their A team, Michael shifted north to try and push his way into the Aces set up, making his one-day debut in the 2018/19 Ford Trophy, picking up 3-61 against Central Districts.

Limited opportunities saw Michael shift to Wellington, where he has remained since his first appearance for the Firebirds, a Plunkett Shield First Class debut against Canterbury. Michael has gone on to become a constant feature for the Firebirds, with his work ethic and gradual improvement across all three formats making him a valued squad member.

Michael had his one and only UK summer of Cricket in 2022, joining Spencer CC in the Surrey Championship, picking up 28 wickets @ 27.89 for the summer.

A very genuine character, Michael is seeking a return to the UK in 2025 and will be a great pick up for any UK club seeking a new ball seamer that can offer some lower order hitting this summer.
