Muhammad Basit

Muhammad Basit is an enigmatic batting talent from Ghazi Khan, Pakistan. A very part-time Right-arm Off Spinner, he is an immensely gifted Right-hander that can bat anywhere in the top order. A former Pakistan U19 representative, he went on to represent Multan in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and more recently Shair Associates in the President’s Trophy.

A junior star for Multan, he represented the Multan U19 side from the age of 13 in 2014 through to his time as a top age in 2019 for Southern Punjab. With such an established age group career, it was no surprise he went on to tour with the Pakistan U19 side to Sri Lanka & South Africa in 2019.

Having aged out, he soon progressed from age group to Southern Punjab 2nd XI in the Quaid-e-Azam Grade II competition, his best performances have consistently come in red-ball cricket with the patient right-hander more suited to anchoring an innings that blasting an opposition away.

Muhammad has visited these shores previously, with a first UK stint in 2025 as he joined Middlesborough CC in the ECB North Yorkshire & South Durham Premier League. He was excellent in a slightly shortened season with 628 runs @ 44.86. He even picked up a couple of cheeky wickets as well.

Basit returned to the UK in 2026, joining Barton CC in Devon and was excellent, with 952 runs @ 52.89 to go with 29 wickets @ 18.66.

Seeking a return to Europe this summer, Muhammad will be an excellent pick up for any club seeking a top order anchor for this summer. Muhammad holds an ECB Core Coach qualification.
