Nipo Khadem is a high quality spin-bowling all-rounder, originally from Bangladesh, he emigrated to Portugal in 2014 before relocating to England in 2020. A hard-hitting Left-hander that bats in the middle order, Nipo is a very skilful Slow Left-arm Orthodox Spinner that had represented Sylhet Division in the Bangladesh domestic system debuting as a spritely 16-year old.

Having played a dozen or so professional games in Bangladesh with limited success, Nipo was admitted to the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan in 2001 as a 13-year old and represented Bangladesh at under-15, under-17 and under-19 level. He played for the Bangladesh at the 2006 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka alongside Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan.

Khadim made his debut for Sylhet Division in 2005 and played for Mohammedan Sporting Club but in 2009, while practising for the Dhaka Premier League, he received a serious eye injury which led to the end of his career in Bangladesh.

Having relocated to Portugal in 2014, he was named in Portugal’s Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for the 2021 Portugal Tri-Nation Series tournament as they were granted international status. He made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut against Malta, in August 2021. He’s been one the country’s best performed players in both T20I and in the European Cricket Network series events.

Having relocated to England permanently in 2020, he’s continued to play in the ECN events but joined Alexandra Park CC in 2022 to play alongside fellow Portugal team mate and WSX Client, Sharn Gomes. He was excellent for APCC in his 2 seasons, bagging 68 wickets @ 14.04 to go with 625 runs @ 27.

Seeking an opportunity at a higher level, Nipo is now classed as a local cricket and will be an excellent signing for any club seeking a quality left-arm spinner that can contribute in the middle order next summer.
