Owen Cole

Owen Cole is an attacking Right-arm Leg Spinner from Sydney’s Western Suburbs, currently playing for NSW Premier Cricket powerhouse, Penrith District Cricket Club having previously played for Campbelltown-Camden Ghosts in the grade system. Owen is also a Right-handed Lower order batsman that, whilst not prolific, is capable of doing a job at the bottom of the innings.

An outstanding junior talent, Owen is an aggressive, strike Leg spinner who takes wickets but bowls with good control and was a regular for New South Wales through the age groups. First selected for the Blues in the Under 15 side to contest the National championships, he held his place throughout the U17 and U19 tournaments, bagging 43 wickets in 38 appearances.

With his regular rep selection, it was no surprise he made his First Grade debut younger than most, debuting for Campbelltown-Camden as a 17-year old. His bowling smarts are what has always set him apart from other young spinners across the state. With an ability to spin the ball both ways combined with sound variation of flight, Owen has always seemed to have a cricket maturity beyond his years.

A real competitor with a safe pair of hands, Owen is seeking to pursue Cricket professionally and by holding a UK passport via his English father, seeks to try his like and see where he fits into the English Cricket world.

Looking to head to the UK for his first season of club cricket in 2025, Owen will be an astute signing for any UK club looking to add a crafty spinner to their ranks next summer. A good clubman and a sound character whose infectious love for the game will surely rub off on his teammates, Owen is keen to join a social but very competitive club next season.
