Pite van Biljon is a top-shelf, top order Batsman from Bloemfontein in South Africa’s Free State. A schoolboy star and Free State age group representative, Pite joined Pretoria University or TUKS to play cricket and study at the conclusion of his schooling. His performances for TUKS sparked the interest of the local province Northerns and he debuted for their first class side in October 2006. After a slow start, he smoked 188 (190) against Griqualand West in just jis 6th First Class Game.
Come 2009, he had re-located to Port Elizabeth to link up with the Warriors Franchise/Eastern Province and by 2011 had returned to his native Free State where he pursued the opportunity to represent his home province and local Franchise, the Knights. Pite would go on to become one of their best performed players through to present time.
In summer 2019-20, just prior to the world coming to a standstill, Pite was rewarded for an excellent Mzansi League campaign and handed his international debut against the touring Australians. Just reward for one of SA’s most consistent performers over the last 10 years.
With a wealth of overseas experience, this brutal top order Batsman, who has had stints with Norwich Wanderers CC (2010), Kampong CC, Holland (2011 & 2012), Kibworth CC (2013-19) & New Brighton CC (2021), Pite not only has a wealth of professional cricket under his belt but a vast array of experience as a club coach/professional.
He returned to SV Kampong in 2022 but a virus ruled him out of the season just 5 games in, left with an average of 45.00 and a 135 runs.
Seeking a return to the UK/EU next summer, Pite will be a fantastic pick up for any UK club seeking a high-end Top Order Batsman for next summer with a long history of pummelling local bowling attacks. Pite is likely to be travelling with his wife and daughter for the duration of the season.
