Pratham Singh is a talented Left-hander from New Delhi, India. A patient Top/Middle Order Batsman, Pratham has been a regular for Indian Railways in the Ranji Trophy since his debut in November 2017. He is also a tidy and useful right-arm off-spinner.

A regular for the Railways various age group and feeder sides, Pratham was by no means a prolific performer that screamed to be selected. However, his consistency, temperament and technique allowed him to regularly feature among the better performed batsmen coming through the ranks. He was rewarded for “sticking at it” in 2017 with a List A debut at the age of 24 and first class debut some 9 months later after his 25th Birthday.

A low strike rate in one day cricket saw him drift from the shorter format but made him an ideal foil for the Indian Railways First Class Ranji Trophy side, with his patience and composed style seeing him cement a place in the side in the longer format. His three half-centuries in 14 innings at the time of writing have seen him found guilty of not converting starts but show that he is capable of getting scores on the board. He returned to the One Day side in sublime fashion and a reinvigorated player, scoring 299 runs @ 74.75 with a best of 129 (138) against Karnataka in the 2021 Vijay Hazare Trophy.

In his one previous season in the UK, a short 2nd half of the season stint with Tudhoe CC in the North East Premier League as an amateur in 2016, he managed to impress without being a standout. 309 runs @ 34.33 in just 9 games in some tough Northern conditions to go with 4 wickets @ 20.50 saw him be a key contributor but again not unleash his full potential.

Seeking a return to the UK as a professional for the first time in 2022, Pratham will be a great pick up for a club seeking a consistent top order batsman that can contribute with the ball next summer.
