Pratik Athavale

Pratik Athavale is a high-class International Wicketkeeper/Batsman, originally from Maharashtra, India, now based in the Oman. A classy, Right-handed Batsman that can bat anywhere in the order, he is a world-class gloveman with very sharp hands that made his International debut for Oman in October 2023.

Having relocated to Oman in pursuit of work and Cricket, Pratik has been exceptional for the Amerat Royals on the domestic circuit and his outstanding T20 tournament in 2022 caught the eye of national selectors with 318 runs @ 45.43 and the following year he was awarded his National team cap.

Whilst his T20 performance for Oman has out-pointed his ODI performances, his 50-over domestic form over the 2023 & 2024 summers has been strong, with 661 runs @ 36.72 to go with buckets full of dismissals behind the stumps.

A nice looking batsman and ‘keeper to watch, Pratik comes highly recommended by fellow WSX Client, former-IPL star Abhishek Raut, a former team mate of Pratik’s before he ventured off to Oman.

Seeking his first season in the UK in 2025, Pratik will be a shrewd signing for any club seeking a high-class gloveman that can bat anywhere in the order next summer. Pratik is a keen coach but will need to complete his ECB Core Coach qualification during the summer.
