Prince is a quality, Test/ODI player that is a fluent stroke-making left-handed Top Order Batsman that is also capable of bowling better than useful left-arm medium/fast or Slow Left-arm Orthodox Spinner. Having been involved in the First Class scene for sometime, Prince also spent time in Australia at the High Performance Centre and his progression to the National team, was not unexpected.

A former Zimbabwe U19 Skipper, Prince made his Test debut for Zimbabwe against New Zealand in 2016 and his first test innings couldn’t have been anymore challenging. Off the back of an outstanding 146 against South Africa A a fortnight earlier and having arrived at the crease at 72-5, Prince lost 3 partners before he faced his 4th ball in Test Cricket as Zimbabwe crumbled to 72-8. He toughed out an 85-run, 9th wicket stand with Donald Tiripano, and was eventually dismissed for 42 (98). He has gone on to play a further 4 tests to date, scoring a career best 64 (152) against Bangladesh in Feb 2020.

A qualified Cricket South Africa Level 2 coach, Prince first ventured to the UK in 2015, joining Sandford CC in Devon. After an indifferent start, adjusting to life on English pitches, Prince became a regular contributor with bat & ball, scoring 947 runs and taking 28 wickets.

He returned to the UK in summer 2021, joining Horsley & Send CC in their promotion chase and he didn’t disappoint, scoring consistently and his return with the ball, having switched to Slow Left-arm Orthodox, was exceptional, bagging 37 wickets @ 9.65 a piece. The club went back-to-back in 2022 with Prince bagging 53 wickets @ 9.58 and chipping in with 486 runs in another solid performance from the Zimbabwean International.

A great character and friendly guy, Prince will be a great pick up for a club seeking a genuine all-rounder next summer.
