Ravija Sandaruwan is a Sri Lankan-born cricketer who plays for the Kuwait national cricket team. A part-time off-spinner, Ravi is an explosive, right-handed, opening batsman that has been a key member of the Kuwait side since his debut in 2019, with his 140+ strike rate helping the National side to discreetly sneak up the world rankings to 24th in October 2024, having finished mid-table or better at every event in 2024.

It all started in Sri Lanka though, making his List A debut in the 2012-13 Premier Limited Overs Tournament with his first-class debut following a couple of months later for Saracens Sports Club in the 2012–13 Premier League Tournament before moving off to Kuwait for work.

In April 2018, he represented Kuwait in Western sub-region group of the 2018–19 ICC World Twenty20 Asia Qualifier tournament, playing in all six matches. On debut, he struck a match-winning 68* (36) against the Maldives and was named the player of the match. Three days later against Bahrain, he smoked 103 (59) and was again named the player of the match and finished the tournament on top of the run count.

A mainstay of the national side, Ravi is looking to spend his first season in the UK in 2025 and will be an excellent pick up for any UK club seeking a top-order dasher that at club level can contribute with the ball.
