Remembrance Nyathi

Remembrance “Remz” Nyathi is an experienced campaigner from Kwekwe, Zimbabwe. A patient right-hander, Remz, formerly a leg-spinner now bowls medium pace cutters but is sparingly used these days at First class level. A veteran of over 150 Professional games, Remz has been a semi-regular feature in the Zimbabwean domestic scene since his List A debut in 2006.

A reliable without being prolific performer over a long period of time, Remz has been at his most productive in red-ball cricket since turning 30, with 990 runs @ 45.00 in 4-day cricket with 3 x 100’s and 5 x 50’s in 14 games between 2017-2021.

In his first season of UK Cricket, Remz joined Broomleys CC in the Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket League for their Division One campaign. Whilst the season didn’t go to plan for the club, Remz put in a solid shift, scoring 897 runs @ 39.00 with a best of 126 against Cropston CC and bagging 27 wickets @ 20.00 with a best of 4-36 coming against Thorpe Arnold CC.

He returned in 2022, joining Louth CC in the ECB Lincolnshire Premier League and was again an excellent contributor. 736 runs @ 46.00 and 20 wickets @ 23.05 was a good return for the big man. He backed this up again in 2023 after joining Ryton CC in the Northumberland & Tyneside Senior League. His 817 runs @ 51.06 and 31 wickets @ 20.16 was another solid return for Remz. He returned to RCC for 2024 and although a bit lighter on runs, his 43 wickets @ 10.44 played a massive part in the club securing promotion to the NTSL First Division.

Seeking a return to the UK next year, Remz will be a good pick up for any club seeking a mature Batsman that can anchor the top order and bring a wealth of experience to any dressing room next summer.
