Richie Looknauth

Richie Looknauth is a talented spin-bowling all-rounder from West Coast Demerara, Guyana. An attacking Right-hander capable of batting anywhere in the order, Richie is also a very capable Right-arm of-spinner that bowls with excellent economy. He is currently playing for Everest CC in the Georgetown Cricket Association as well as for the West Demerara Franchise side. He made his Guyana debut in 2024-25.

A regular for Guyana at age group level, Richie was selected from U15 right through to U19 level when he represented his nation at the 2017 West Indies Cricket Board Regional U19 competition, where he was one of the most economical bowlers in the tournament.

In his last full season of cricket for Everest CC pre-Covid, he was excellent, scoring 829 runs @ 43.63 with a best of 131* to go along with 28 wickets @ 21.42 with a best of 4-31. He also represented the West Demerara Franchise bagging 11 wickets in seven T20 games.

In 2022, after an excellent season for Everest CC again, with 278 runs @ 46.33 in a short season, he ventured to New York to join MMZ Cricket Club, piling on the runs and helping himself to 69 wickets in 55 games @ 16.17. He returned to Guyana, plying his trade in the West Demerara 50 Over competition in search of an opportunity at home.

His first class debut came in January 2025, against Barbados. Whilst he got a first baller with the bat, he set up a win with the ball for the Harpy Eagles, collecting 9-92 for the match with 4-69 (17) in the first innings and a remarkable 5-23 (11.4) in the second dig to reducing Barbados to rubble and setting up a 10-wicket win.

Seeking his first season in the UK in 2027, Richie will be a good pickup for a club seeking a strike spinner that can genuinely contribute in the middle order for next summer.
