Risira Weerasuriya is an experienced, professional cricketer from Sri Lanka having debuted as a 19 year old for the Sri Lankan Air Force Sports Club. A right-handed batsman that can bat anywhere in the order, he’s predominantly appeared in the longer formats. Risira is also a very capable gloveman that currently plays for Burgher Recreation Club.

A schoolboy star, he attended Mahana College in his early schooling before completing his education for St Servatius College, starring as their standout batter and gloveman.

Despite not setting the domestic scene on fire, his even temperament, work ethic and popularity in the dressing room have seen Risira remain a regular feature in the Sri Lankan domestic system.

Seeking his first season in the UK in 2026, Risira will be a good pick up for a club seeking a Wicket-keeper Batsman for next summer that brings a positive attitude and a hunger to do well.
