Roshan Jayatissa

Roshan Jayatissa is an outstanding Spin-bowling all-rounder from Sri Lanka. A hard-hitting Right-hander that at First class level is seen lower down the order, Roshan is more than capable of batting anywhere in the middle order. However the storied aspect to his game is his economical and dangerous Right-arm Off-Spin.

Since his 2009 debut, Roshan has put together a record that is quite remarkable, over 400 professional wickets @ 20.47 across all three formats at the time of writing. His strike rate and miserly economy has seen him become arguably one of the best spinners not to play for Sri Lanka.

No mug with the bat, he has a first class hundred to his name but has probably not delivered with the bat at first class level as well as he could. The same cannot be said for his performances in this country, with over 5,000 runs in 5 seasons in the UK, to go with just 230+ wickets in the same period.

Back to back stints with Tudhoe CC (2457 runs/131 wickets) and Linden Park CC (2177 runs/81 wickets) sandwiched a 2019 season in Scotland at Kelburne CC (282 runs/21 wickets). Summer 2024 saw Roshan return to the south-east, joining Sandwich Town CC in the ECB Kent Premier League, picking up 36 wickets @ 21.64 to go with 537 runs for the summer.

Seeking a return to the UK next season, Roshan will be an outstanding pickup for any UK club seeking a genuine spin-bowling all-rounder next summer that has excellent experience on and off the field.
