Rumesh Buddhika

Rumesh is a talented left hand batsman currently playing first class cricket for Chilaw Marians CC. In 2010 he was selected for the Sri Lankan Under 19 team for the World cup in New Zealand.He had a good tour of Australia in 2009 averaging 43.86. Before the World cup in 2010 he scored a century during the Under 19 Tri series in South Africa.

In the 2014 first class campaign he has had a fantastic season scoring 790 runs at 65.83 with a magnificant 239 Not Out against Moors cc,he finished the leading run scorer in the season for Tamil Union which boast the likes of Sri Lankan test players Tillakaratne Dilshan and Jeevan Mendis. He is highly thought of in the Domestic circuit.

He ventured to the UK in 2017 playing for Colwyn Bay CC in the very strong Liverpool Premier league where he finished scoring 767 runs at 42.61. He returned to the UK in 2019, joining Flitwick CC he was at his prolific best, scoring 1666 runs @ 61.70 and poaching 60 wickets @ 18.05.

Unsurprisingly Flitwick secured his services once again for the 2021 season and to date was once again produced a fantastic season scoring 1141 runs at 47.54 and taken 24 wickets at 20.58.

In summer 2022, Rumesh joined Callington CC in the ECB Cornwall Premier Legaue. In probably his trickiest season to date, he wasn’t as prolific on the Cornish pitches, scoring 405 runs @ 27.00 and picking up 19 wickets @ 20.53. He returned in 2023, joining Dorridge CC in Birmingham, scoring 428 runs and bagging 15 wickets.

He returned in summer 2024, joining Donemana CC in the NWCU in Northern Ireland, bagging 39 wickets @ 17 and chipping in with 627 runs with a best of 119

He will look to return to the UK next summer and as a proven performer here and at first class level he would be a great pick for any side looking for an experienced all-rounder.
