Sachintha Peiris

Sachintha Peiris is a talented off-spinner from Kurunegala in Sri Lanka. A Right-handed Lower Order Batsman, Sachintha is a genuine strike spinner with a constantly improving record in both red & white ball cricket. An outstanding schoolboy prospect for Maliyadeva College, Sachintha was an opening batsman and also an off-spinner that was often used to open the bowling. He left the college with the focus of following some of his School Alumni, Rangana Herath & Minod Bhanuka in to the top level of the game.

Sachintha represented Nondescripts CC through the age groups and was a real standout at the 2015 National U23 tournament as a 19 year old. Having scored 186 runs @ 46.50 in 3 matches, Sachintha also chipped in with 14 wickets @ 23.35. This ultimately led to his professional debut for NCC 6 months later in both red and white ball formats.

Since his debut, Sachintha has been an excellent contributor with the ball, bagging 127 professional wickets in 79 games. As a big turner of the ball, he has been particularly effective in T20 cricket, with 32 wickets @ 16.00 in the shortest format.

Seeking a first stint in the UK in 2023, Sachintha will be a good pick up for any UK club seeking a high-quality off-spinner that will utilise the chance to bat higher up the order during the season to get back to his run-scoring ways.
