Sajjadul Huque Ripon is a hard-hitting All-Rounder from Chattogram, Bangladesh. A Right-arm Medium pace seamer, Ripon is a brutal middle order finisher that has been around the Bangladesh system since he was a teenager, having made his professional debut as a 17-year old for Chittagong in the 2006/07 National Cricket League 50-over competition.

That first appearance was impressive, hitting 38 (36) in a 105-run, 69-ball partnership with Ehsanul Haque. After a handful of further 50-over appearances, he made his red-ball debut in late 2008 for Chittagong in the 2008/09 NCL against Sylhet, scoring 32 & 16 in a fairly dour draw.

Sajjadul has gone on to have a long but sporadic First Class Career, with strong seasons in 2017/18 with 336 runs @ 42.00 and a solid start to the 2024-25 season with 338 runs @ 30.72, including his career best of 139 (185) against Dhaka Division at Cox’s Bazar in Nov 2024.

Overall, his best and most regular work has come in the one-dayers, as a finisher. A selfless role, his ability to score quickly from ball one has seen him remain a regular on the domestic circuit and whilst his style is very much go hard or go home, he has the ability to change a game very quickly.

Seeking his first season in the UK, Ripon will be a good pick up for any club seeking an experienced professional seam-allrounder that is looking for his first chance to impress in the UK.
