Saminda is dynamic Opening batsman currently playing first class cricket in Sri Lanka for Ragama CC & Jaffna District. After a prolific college career he made his debut for Ragama CC in the 2017 season scoring 93 on debut against Chilaw Marians. A top order Right-hander, Saminda is not only an adept wicketkeeper but also a tidy Right-arm Off Spinner.

Currently the captain of Ragama CC, Saminda was selected for the Sri Lankan development squad in 2022 and is highly thought of as a really promising wicket keeper batsman coming through the Sri Lankan first class system, with his record weighted heavily towards red-ball cricket.

A shrewd operator with a good cricket brain, he is a committed trainer who leads by example and has shown, particularly between 2019-2022, that he is a genuine contributor with the bat in hand. Throughout the period that yielded representative selection, he scored 965 runs @ 45.95 with three hundreds, with his momentum somewhat held up by COVID.

Looking to continue his development in the UK next summer, Saminda would be an excellent choice for any club looking for an excellent top order batsman that can either take the gloves or contribute with his tidy offies.
