Samuel Conteh

Samuel Conteh is a young emerging international cricket talent from Associate nation, Sierra Leone. Playing as an all-rounder, Samuel is a hard hitting but inconsistent miuddle/lower order batsman but his dominant skill is his Right-arm Medium/Fast seam bowling that has proven to be most effective domestically as well as for the national side.

A standout for Midwest CC (5 time T20 Champions) in the Sierra Leone domestic T20 competition, Samuel is one of the country’s brightest young talents that made history by becoming the first Sierra Leonean cricketer to be selected for a major global franchise league when he joined the Sharjah Warriorz for the International League T20 (ILT20), selected as part of an ICC associate player initiative to train and feature in the ILT20 franchise infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates

His Twenty20 International (T20I) debut came in October 2021 against Nigeria and he ranked as the 5th highest wicket-taker globally across all T20 internationals during that period. Samuel has established himself as a reliable bowling option for the national side, featuring in 39 matches through May 2026, collecting 45 wickets @ 14.28 with a best of 5-17 against Nigeria in just his 2nd T20I.

His economy in the shortest format has been outstanding and in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier matches held in Gaborone in May 2026, he picked up 5/23 against Cameroon as Sierra Leone almostb defended 69, Cameroon scraping home by a wicket.

Raw but very talented, Samuel will be an excellent pick for any UK club seeking a new ball bowler that can contribute down the order next summer.
