Scott Palombo is a highly talented, clean-striking top order Batsman currently playing for the Powerhouse Toombul DCC in the Brisbane Grade competition. Originally from the small country town of Moree in Northern NSW, Scott showed incredible promise from a young age as a middle order batsman and blossoming leg-spinner, making his first grade debut as a 14-year old. With a sound technique and great eye, Scott was wasted in the middle order and mid-season switched to opening the batting, scoring 80 in a T20 at his first time of opening the batting in Men’s cricket.

Scott relocated to the Gold Coast for schooling and attended The Southport School where he flourished as a cricketer, ultimately being selected in 2017 in the initial squad for the QLD U19 side having already previously represented a number on combined NSW/ACT U19 representative teams previously.

In his final year of school, Scott plundered 301 runs @ 50.17 for the 1st XI in the Brisbane GPS schools competition. His standout performance of the year was a classy 104 against Brisbane Grammar School chasing down 163-7 in a composed and controlling innings. A better than useful leg-spinner, Scott is also capable of bowling medium pace and is a sensational fielder with a safe pair of hands and a rocket throwing arm.

In 2015, Scott played 3 games whilst travelling in the UK, scoring 225 runs with a best of 119, however his last innings was his most telling. Set 237 to win off 35 overs against multiple time national champions, Swardeston CC, Scott opened up, scored 72 (80) and putting on a 148-run partnership with club professional, Mike Jones, as Brooke CC caused the upset of the summer, chasing down the total with 5 balls to spare. His resilience and brutal stroke-play, at just 16-years old, in the face of some lively banter from the EAPL big guns will be a day never forgotten at Brooke House Park in a famous yet controversial result for the club.

A holder of a British Passport, Scott joined ECB Derbyshire Premier League powerhouse, Spondon Cricket Club. Scoring over 1000 runs in all formats, Scott spent time with Derbyshire CCC and represented the county in a number of County 2nd XI games throughout the 2018 summer. He returned in 2019 and finished the summer in 5th on the run scorers list in the ECB Derbyshire Premier League with 633 runs @ 33.32.

Scott asserted his dominance on the Brisbane Premier Cricket Competition in 2020-21, scorching 907 runs @ 45.35 including a best of 141 (158) in a 257-run opening stand with Brisbane Heat star, Max Bryant. Ahead of summer 2022-23 he was recruited by Brisbane powerhouse, Toombul DCC which has been a factory line for Queensland Cricketers over a long period of time and his 533 runs was a good return. A move to Northern Suburbs DCC for 2023-24 sparked the best in Scott, with 808 runs by Christmas putting him in contention for higher honours

Seeking a return to the UK next summer, Scott will no doubt be a popular choice for premier league clubs seeking to add a dashing top order batsman to their ranks next summer. A polite and well-mannered young man, Scott will be a great signing that is also keen to coach. Scott will be travelling with his partner.
