Shane Dadswell

Shane Dadswell is a record-breaking, Batting All-Rounder from South Africa. A powerful Right-Handed opening/top order batsman, Shane is also a tidy Right-arm Medium pace seamer. Schooled at the renowned King Edward VII School in Johannesburg, Shane was a semi-regular selection in the Gauteng age-based sides from U13 right through to U19 level.

After school finished, Shane headed to Potchefstroom to study. Joining North West University (Pukke), he quickly slipped into the University’s 1st XI, playing in two South African Varsity Cup T20 tournaments (2017 & 2018). Making the final on both occasions, Pukke won it in 2017 and finished runners-up in 2018.

Without a shadow of a doubt, the highlight of his Pukke 1st XI appearances was his record-breaking 490 off just 151 balls which included 57 sixes and 27 fours. A widely reported story in the cricketing world, this exceptional performance overshadowed an almost equally impressive 126 off 44 balls (14 x 4’s/10 x 6’s) the week before. Now contracted to the North West Province, he debuted in T20 in the 2018 CSA Africa Cup T20 tournament, scoring 98* off 34 balls but is now a regular across all three formats for the province. Shane was drafted for the Pretoria Capitals in the inaugural SA20 tournament.

Seeking his first placement in the UK in 2023, Shane joined Irish powerhouses, Instonians CC in the Northern Cricket Union and he was outstanding as the club won the league, scoring 763 runs @ 44 and bagging 36 wickets @ 16 across all competitions

Shane will be a popular pick for UK clubs seeking a hard-hitting Top Order Batsman who is also an excellent seamer for next summer who in the right environment will surely prove to be a real game changer.
