Shivam Chauhan is an exceptional young batting talent from Karnal, Haryana just outside New Delhi. A gifted right-hander that prefers to bat at 4, Shivam is also a tidy right-arm medium seamer and Off-spinner. Identified as a player of promise after being selected for the Haryana U16 side at 12 years old in 2009 and again in 2010 aged 13. In the 2010 Vijay Merchant Trophy at 13, he struck 100 (136) against Jammu & Kashmir U16. In 2013, after finishing as the 2nd highest run scorer in the National U16 Coca Cola Cup, he was duly selected for the Indian U16 team who toured Sri Lanka and England in 2013.

After impressing whilst on the English tour, he played a number of club games for Old Merchant Taylors CC during their visits in both 2013 & 2014. In 9 games for the club, he scored 654 runs @ 163.50 with a best of 201 against Crane CC. In all he scored 2 hundreds (201 & 157*) and 4 fiftys in 8 innings. On his return to India he was selected in the 2014-15 Haryana U19 Cooch Behar Trophy side at 17 and was outstanding, scoring 448 runs @ 49.77. He improved again in 2015-16 edition of the prestigious tournament, scoring heavily again, racking up 610 runs @ 76.25 with 2 Hundreds including a daddy of 198 (220) against Goa U19’s.

By 2016, Shivam was playing in the Ranji Trophy for his native Haryana. The 2016/17 & 2017/18 seasons were not so prolific for him having stepped in to the big time but as they say, form is temporary and class is permanent and come 2019-20 he has forced his way back in to the Haryana side and has no intention of letting someone else take his place. In the first 4 Ranji Trophy games of the season, he had scored 269 runs @ 53.80 including an outstanding 117 (208) against Maharashtra.

In summer 2021, Shiv joined Blackpool CC in the ECB Northern Premier League and was sensational, 732 runs @ 45.75 and 36 wickets @ 15.00 was an excellent return but his penchant for a big game performance is what left its mark. These big game performances led Prestwich CC to swoop on him for their 2022 Greater Manchester Premier League campaign and it paid off, winning the league.

Shivam will be an excellent pick up for any UK club seeking a high quality emerging talent that has proved he can do the business here in the UK in tough Northern conditions.
