Sithembile Langa is a hard-working Right-arm Fast seamer from South Africa’s Eastern Cape. Originally from the Border Province, he is now based in Port Elizabeth and representing Eastern Province and the Warriors Franchise. A right-handed late order hitter, he is no mug with the bat but his sharp seam-up bowling has always what has caught representative team selector’s eyes. He represented his home province of Border from U15 level right through to consecutive U19 National weeks.
After coming out of age group cricket, he continued to represent the Border rural side, earning a call up to the Border Senior side after collecting 6-33 against Boland East. He made his List A debut for Border the following weekend and by the end of the summer, he would get his debut First Class cap against a red-hot Gauteng side. He made his Twenty20 debut for Border at the start of the following 2017-18 summer as the Africa T20 Cup
An outstanding 2017–18 CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge tournament for Border, for whom he was the leading wicket taker (17 wickets in 10 games), he was also the joint-leading wicket-taker in the 2017–18 Sunfoil 3-Day Cup for Border, with 26 wickets in 9 games. His form resulted in a Warriors call up before the summer was out.
Seeking his first season in the UK next summer, Sithembile will be a great pick up for a club seeking a raw fast bowler that gets good seam movement at a lively pace.
