Siviwe Gidana

Siviwe is an experienced first class pro currently playing first class cricket in South Africa for Eastern Province. He is capable of bowling at a good pace with excellent control and variations. He is also a useful lower middle to lower order batsman who has a first class fifty to his name and also has produced some more than useful knocks.

Siviwe is keen to get involved with coaching kids of all age groups. Having represented Desborough Town CC in Northants in 2015, arriving as a late replacement for the club’s previous Overseas, Siviwe showed he is more than capable of producing the goods in the UK with the new ball. He followed this up with a split season with Rotherham Town CC before joining Tickhill CC in June where he was equally as effective, collecting a combined 42 wickets @ 15.62 for the summer.

In summer 2018, Siviwe joined Padiham CC in the Ribblesdale League, collecting 60 wickets @ 15.48 with an amazing best of 8-13 against Baxenden as they rolled the visitors by 216 runs in June. He was consistent throughout and also chipped in with 432 runs @ 19.64, batting as high as No. 4 on some occasions.

He returned in 2019, joining Havant CC for their ECB Southern Premier League campaign, helping the club along to the last 16 of the Royal London ECB CLub Championship and a solid mid-table finish in the League.

Sivi returned to the UK in 2022, linking with Barby CC in the Warwickshire League and was exceptional with his batting showed marked improvement, scoring 773 runs @ 38.65 and collecting 42 wickets @ 19.29.

Seeking a return to the UK next summer, Siviwe will be a great pick up for a club seeking a class seamer that can contribute in the middle/lower order.
