Siyabonga Mahima

Siyabonga Mahima is a quality spin bowling all-rounder, originally from Mpumalanga but now based in Boland, South Africa. A big unit, he is a very hard-hitting Right-hander that is much more capable down the order than his professional stats would suggest but his dominant skillset is most certainly his Slow Left-arm Orthodox Spin.

Siya was a regular for Mpumalanga throughout the age groups and was drafted into the Titans Academy in 2015. Between 2015-2019, he plied his trade with the Mpumalanga Rural side in the CSA Rural League until the provinces re-entry to the professional game via the 2019 CSA T20 Challenge.

Siya was enticed to the Western Cape, with an opportunity to join the Cape Cobras (2020-21) and now Boland Rocks (2021-Present), with his Left-arm Spin proving to be some of the most effective in the SA Domestic system. Since heading west, Siya has bagged 30 T20 wickets at a tidy average but more impressively, an economy rate at under 7, when he often bowls in the powerplay.

Seeking his first season in the UK, Siya is seeking to join a UK club that he can play more of an all-round role at, to make the most of not only his crafty spin but the chance to spend much more time in the middle with the bat in hand.
