Sizwe Masondo is an experienced Wicketkeeper/Batsman from Soweto, South Africa. A very capable gloveman, Sizwe is a stroke-making Right-handed Top Order Batsman that can bat anywhere in the order. An intelligent and personable guy, he studied and Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) in Port Elizabeth and coming out the other side of their Cricket program with a degree and his First Class Cap.

A talented youngster, Sizwe represented Gauteng through the age groups before heading south to study. Having been a regular 1st XI member in the stacked NMMU squad, he made his First Class and T20 debuts for Eastern Province whilst still at University albeit a bit of a late bloomer by professional cricket standards, debuting at 24.

At the conclusion of his studies, he relocated back to the Highveld and signed to Gauteng for the second half of the 2011-12 summer, and would spend the next 4 seasons with his native Lions side. A 6-year stint at Easterns followed before joining Limpopo for their return to Professional Cricket at the start of the 2022-23 summer.

Sizwe has had 3 previous seasons of UK experience, with 3 consecutive summers from 2016-2018. His first two summers saw him grace the WEPL, having played for Gloucester CC (2016) & Purton (2017), with glimpses of what he could do. His 2018 summer at Mistley CC in the Two Counties Championship was a realisation of his ability to deliver on the British decks, scoring 970 runs @ 57.06 for the Swans.

Seeking a return to the UK next summer, Sizwe is a leader amongst men and has captained provincial sides over the years and will be keen to replicate his last outing. A strong coach, he’ll be a great pick up for a club seeking an experienced player/coach for 2025.
