Stefan Tait

Stefan Tait is a talented seamer originally from Gqeberha (Formerly Port Elizabeth) in South Africa’s Eastern Province region. A well-built and powerful Left-arm Fast seamer, Stefan was schooled at Hoerskool Framesby and was a frequent selection in the Eastern Province age group teams from U15 upwards, including 2 appearances at the prestigious Cricket South Africa Khaya Majola Coke Week U19 National Championships.

After some solid performances at Cubs level, Stefan was handed a Semi-Pro contract with South Western Districts, whom he made his Professional debut for against Boland in a 50-over game. He made an instant impact, grabbing 4-42 (10) with his comeback spell yielding 3 wickets in 11 balls to bring SWD back into the game and ultimately win it.

After an impressive debut season, he was drawn in to the Warriors Franchise side in his second season, the 2019-20 summer. Off the back some quality performances and aggressive spells, Stefan was selected to play against England for the South African Invitational XI to play England in late 2019 and again in Jan/Feb 2020.

He impressed, knocking over Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root in consecutive deliveries as well as bagging 4-56 in another match, picking up Root again, along with Malan, Woakes and Sam Curran. He followed this representative team selection up with appearances for the South African Emerging Players on their tour of Namibia in April 2021.

Seeking his first season abroad in 2024, Stefan is a genuine X-factor seamer and will be an excellent pick up for any club seeking a genuinely quick opening bowler that has a lethal yorker and brutal short ball.
