Sumit Kumar is an excellent all-round talent from Gurugram, Haryana. A hard-hitting, Right-handed Middle Order batsman, Sumit is also an economical but wicket-taking right-arm medium/fast seamer. A slightly later bloomer than those around him, Sumit made his mark in University Cricket before getting an opportunity to represent both the Haryana and North Zone representative teams between 2017-2019.

As his skill set and contributions continued to improve, Sumit was selected for the Haryana U23 side to contest the 2018-19 CK Nayudu Trophy. He was outstanding, scoring 654 runs @ 54.50 with a best of 207 v Goa U23 as well as chipping in with 14 wickets @ 18.71 with a best of 5-72 (18.5) against Himachal Pradesh. He was rewarded for this performance with a T20 debut in February 2019 against Arunachal Pradesh, picking up 3-13 (4). Debuts in both 50 Over and First Class would follow later in 2019.

Seeking to play in the UK for the first time in 2023, Sumit will be an excellent pick up for any UK club seeking a genuine seam bowling all-rounder for next summer.
