Sylvester Okpe

Sylvester Okpe is an explosive all-rounder and National team captain of Nigeria. A brutal and raw Right-hander, Sylvester is a tidy Right-arm Off Spinner that has been marked as a leader amongst his peers from a young age. Having led the Nigerian U19 side at the 2020 ICC Under 19 World Cup, a little over 12 months later at just 20 years old, he took over as the men’s national team captain, still just 20 years old.

As part of an exchange program with the Dolphins Franchise in South Africa, Sylvester spent time at the Hollywood Bets Dolphins Academy in Durban as part of a selected trio of players identified as critical to the future of the National side.

By just 24, Sylvester has made 70+ International T20I appearances for the National side. Whilst his batting numbers are light overall, his barbaric hitting style when it comes off is if nothing, entertaining. His major impact has been with the ball and is clearly a very capable Off Spinner, collecting 63 T20I wickets @ 16.80 with a best of 5-9 against Cameroon at the World Cup qualifiers in December 2022.

Having yearned to play in the UK for a number of seasons, Sylvester joins us seeking his first season in the UK in 2026 and will be an interesting pick up for any club seeking a spin-bowling all-rounder that on his day, can brutalise a bowling attack.
