Takudzwa Chataira is a skilful seam-bowling all-rounder from Harare. A right-handed lower order batsman, Takudzwa is a sharp Right-arm seamer that represents the Southern Rocks in the Zimbabwe Domestic competitions. Not overly tall, he generates genuine pace from a whippy action and whilst not prolific with the bat, can show late order fight when required.

Somewhat of a late bloomer, Takudzwa didn’t have a glittering youth career to speak of and first appeared in the senior Harare Cricket scene in 2021-22 for Manyame CC in the Harare Metropolitan Cricket Association Vigne Cup. He bagged 16 wickets in 12 games before he moved on to the city’s biggest club, Takashinga from 2022.

He made his pro debut in summer 2022-23, for the Harare-based Southern Rocks, in the Logan Cup, picking up 11 wickets @ 35.00 in his first season of First Class Cricket. His impressive form saw him represent the Zimbabwe Emerging players/U25 and has been on back-to-back tours of the UK in 2024 & 2025 with the emerging squad.

Seeking his first season in the UK as a club overseas, Takudzwa will be a great pick up for any club seeking a new ball bowler for next summer. Takudzwa is an ECB Level 2 accredited coach.
