Tiaan van Vuuren

Tiaan van Vuuren is one of South Africa’s bright young seam bowling prospects, hailing from Port Elizabeth in the country’s Eastern Province region, Tiaan was a schoolboy star for Grey High School. A hard-hitting Right-hander that is suited to the middle order, Tiaan is a genuine new-ball bowler, with his sharp, Left-arm seam bowling.

One of the first players picked for Eastern Province at age group level, Tiaan was a provincial representative from U13 through the the National CSA Khaya Majola Coke week tournament for the best under 19’s in the country. Following exceptional and sustained performance, Tiaan was selected to represent South Africa at the 2020 ICC Under 19 World Cup hosted at home in early 2020.

Tiaan had already made his Professional debut prior to the World Cup, first appearing for his home province against the Free State Province in March 2019. Since his debut, Tiaan has gone on to represent the Province across all three formats, excelling in the one-day format in particular.

In summer 2023, Tiaan ventured to the UK for the first time, linking with ECB Northern Premier League stalwarts, Fleetwood CC. He was exceptional, picking up 48 wickets and chipping in with 489 runs in a very solid first up performance in English conditions.

A genuine all-rounder, Tiaan is seeking a return to the UK next summer and will be an astute signing for any club seeking a new ball bowler that is more than capable of banging runs in the middle order.
