Tilanga Udeshana is an exciting seam bowling prospect from Southern Sri Lanka. A right-handed lower order batsman, Tilanga is a Right-arm Fast seamer, with genuine pace that was a product of the renowned Richmond College, Galle, one of Sri Lanka’s best cricket schools.
A star for the school, he also represented the Southern Province at regional level, bagging 62 wickets @ 15.90 in his U19 2-day competition. His excellent red-ball form saw Tilanga selected to not only represent the Sri Lanka U19 side in the final youth test against South Africa but spearhead the attack in July 2016.
The following year, Tilanga was handed a professional debut for Tamil Union Sports Club, appearing for the club in all three formats in his 3 seasons with them. A brief stop at Saracens Sports Club en route to Moors Sports Club where he has found a happy home, he’s been excellent in the 4-day & T20 formats as he heads into his prime.
Seeking his first summer in the UK in 2024, Tilanga will be an excellent pick up for any club seeking a strike new ball bowler for next season.
