Tinashe is an attacking top order Batsman from Harare, Zimbabwe. A dashing right-hander, he is an occasional right-arm off-spinner as well. Having first appeared in 2014 having been selected for the Zimbabwe U19 World Cup side, he made 5 appearances for Zimbabwe at the ICC U19 World Cup in Dubai. During the tournament, he picked up 4 wickets in 5 games @ 13.00 with a best of 3-17.
A little under 2 years later, he made his First Class debut, stepping in as a substitute for Vusi Sibanda who had been re-called to the National team but would have to wait nearly 2 years for another red-ball opportunity. Following an excellent showing in the 2017-18 domestic season in 50-over Cricket, 379 runs @ 42.11, Tinashe was rewarded with a call up during the Pakistan tour in 2018.
Whilst his first foray into International Cricket lasted just 2 games with scores of 3 & 34, he continued to impress in the domestic 50-over competition with 243 runs @ 40.50 in 2018-19, again forcing the selectors hands and he was picked to tour Ireland in 2019. He returned to the National side in 2021 for the tour of Afghanistan and visit by Pakistan/Bangladesh.
Tinashe had previously been a member of the Zimbabwe Rising Stars programme, led by former Zimbabwe skipper, Tatenda Taibu. During 2017, he spent the summer training and touring the UK with the Academy and having enjoyed his time in the old dart immensely, he now seeks a return for his first placement as a club professional next summer.
