Tino is a vastly experienced spin-bowling all-rounder from Harare, Zimbabwe. A slight, right-handed Top/Middle Order Batsman, Tino is also a tidy right-arm Leg Spin bowler who has been capped 16 times (ODI,T20I) for Zimbabwe since his ODI debut against the West Indies in 2013 having previously worn the national colours on 25 occasions at U19 level. He is also an ECB Level 2 coach.
Having made his First Class, List A & T20 debut’s as an 18 year old in 2009, Tino has gone on to become not just a stalwart of the domestic scene in Zimbabwe but as Captain of the Mashonaland Eagles Franchise. During his time in the professional ranks, Tino has accrued some 4000+ runs & 210 wickets in 190 games across all formats.
Tino has had three previous UK stints. Firstly with Eversley CC in the Thames Valley Cricket League, scoring 816 runs @ 40.80 to go with 27 wickets @ 24.59. He then returned to the UK in 2018, joining Brooke CC in the Norfolk Premier Division, scoring 582 runs @ 34.24 and picking up 20 wickets @ 29.20 on the beautiful but small East Anglian ground.
In summer 2019, Tino joined Hatherleigh CC in the Devon Div 1 for their hunt to return swiftly to the Premier League and he was outstanding, scoring 825 runs @ 63.46 (1225 @ 58.33 overall) and taking 30 wickets @ 13.37 (47 @ 11.77 overall) as the club secured its return to the Premier League. He returned to HCC for the 2021 summer, without the same levels of success in the Premier League but certainly didn’t disgrace himself either, chalking up 746 runs @ 37.30 including a match winning 110 in the last game of the season to stave off relegation.
In summer 2022. Tino returned to Devon, linking with Plympton CC. He was instrumental in their promotion success, scoring 604 runs @ 60.40 and bagging 29 wickets @ 16.28 with a best of 4-28.
Seeking a return to the UK next summer, Tino will be a great pick up for a club seeking a mature professional with excellent leadership skills and plenty of ability for next season.
