Victor Chirwa

Victor Chirwa is a skilful spinner from Harare, Zimbabwe. A hard-hitting Left-handed Middle Order Batsman, Victor is a genuine threat with the ball, with his Slow Left-arm Orthodox spin proving to be very effective at every level he has played along his journey so far.

A youth star, Victor first represented Zimbabwe at U13 level in the 2015-16 Cricket South Africa National championships. He finished the tournament as the 5th highest wicket-taker, bagging 12 wickets @ 11.00 with a best of 5-27. He remained a key figure at each age group through to the U19 side and following 10 wickets in 4 games against Ireland, was selected to represent Zimbabwe at the 2022 ICC Under 19 World Cup in the West Indies. He made 2 appearances including an excellent 35 (16) & 2-11 (7) against PNG in January 2022.

12 months later, Victor made his first professional appearances, a wicketless, 2-game stint in January 2023 as a late substitute for a player called into the test squad. He’d need to wait another 12 months for a further opportunity but grabbed it, bagging 17 wickets in 6 games with a best of 5-83 against the Tuskers in early 2024.

He continued his strong form throughout 2024, with plenty of runs and wickets in the two National Premier League (NPL) competitions, with 600 runs and 40 wickets in 19 games across both the 50-Over/T20 tournaments. His 2024 was topped off with selection for the Bulawayo Brave Jaguars in the ZimAfro T10 tournament.

Seeking his first season in the UK in 2025, Victor will be a handy pick up for any UK Club seeking a Left-arm Spinner that can contribute with the bat next summer.
