Zach Ferris

Zach Ferris is a promising seamer from Perth, a location in the Cricket world that just keeps producing high quality quicks. A 6ft 5in Right-arm Fast/Medium, Zach has become a spearhead for Willeton District Cricket Club in the Western Austra.lia Premier Cricket Competition since joining them from Fremantle ahead of the 2021-22 summer. Zach is also a Right-handed Lower Order Batsman.

Having been graded by Fremantle as a 15 year-old, Zach burst into First Grade as an 18 year old in summer 2017-18, picking up 22 wickets and being shortlisted for the Western Australia U19, narrowly missing out on the State side for the National Championships. He spent 2018/2019 training with the WACA Academy but some injuries and a form dip saw him seek a new challenge, heading up to Willeton DCC for the 2021-22 season.

A solid first summer for the Dragons saw Zach pick up 28 wickets but the 2022-23 season was a breakout for Zach, bagging 38 wickets, 27 of which were in red-ball Cricket. Having matured and gained greater control of his swing and seam, his 2-day haul was the second best in the league for average (16.92) and 4th overall for total wickets.

Seeking his first season in the UK in 2024, Zach joined Barby CC in the Northants league, bagging 51 wickets across all formats.

Zach will be an excellent pick up for any UK club seeking a class new ball bowler. Zach will be travelling with his partner in the summer and is eligible for a UK Ancestry Visa. Zach is also working towards his Cricket Australia Level 2 coaching qualification.
