Zak Tribe is a talented young British cricketer based in the UK but representing his native Jersey in a variety of International tournaments. A capable Leg-Spinner, Zak is a powerful Right-handed Middle Order Batsman renowned for his brutal clean hitting, representing Jersey in the T20I Cricket World Cup Qualifiers in 2022 & 2023. He has also worked for Hawkeye whilst studying at Nottingham Trent University (NTU).
Having represented Jersey through the age groups, making a senior debut at age 16 and International debut aged 19, Zak was the Jersey Young Cricketer of the Year and leading T20 run scorer in Jersey in 2019 whilst playing for Farmers CC.
Leaving Jersey to study in Nottingham during the Covid disrupted the 2020 cricket season, Zak like most of us, only managed a handful of games, scoring 153 runs in 6 games and picking up 3 wickets for Attenborough CC, his new local side. The 2021 season saw more cricket, with 400 runs and 9 wickets in 15 games as as finishing as the leading run scorer for NTU for the 2021 season.
Having missed 2022 with work for Hawkeye, Zak returned to Attenborough CC in the ECB Nottinghamshire Premier League for 2023 and was excellent, scoring 848 runs @ 35.33. Throughout the last few years, he has been a regular sight on our TV screens with 20+ appearances in the European Cricket League for either Jersey or Farmers CC.
Zak spent the 2023-24 Australian summer with Pinjarra CC in the Peel Valley competition in Perth and was excellent, scoring 985 runs and chipping in with 24 wickets in all competitions.
Seeking a new home for 2024, Zak joined Ashmanhaugh & Barton Wanderers CC for their first foray into the ECB East Anglian Premier League, scoring 697 runs in all comps and contributing 24 wickets across the summer.
Zak is a keen coach and will be an excellent pick up for any UK Club seeking a hard-hitting middle order Batsman for next summer that can not only contribute with the ball but is genuinely a keen coach.
