Zawandi White is an exciting young all-round talent from Montserrat. A hard-hitting, right-handed Top/Middle Order Batsman, Zawandi is also an excellent Left-arm Spinner. A schoolboy star, Zawandi grew up on the tiny Caribbean Island of Montserrat, a British Overseas Territory. He was first selected for the Leeward Island U15 side at just 12 years old and spent most of his junior career as predominantly, a batting all-rounder. He has represented the Leeward Islands in all age groups from U15 to U19 between 2012-2019. As he progressed from Montserrat age group sides to regional Leeward Islands representative teams, Zawandi took on more of a Middle order role with the bat while his Slow Left-arm Orthodox spin developed into a genuine strike weapon for the regional side.

Considered as one of the most skilled young cricketers in the West Indies age group competitions, he was selected for the West Indies U16 side as a 15 year old. He debuted for the Montserrat senior side a year later, aged just 16, having scored three centuries (144, 145 and 102) in the Leeward Islands regional competition for the U17 side. Throughout 2018-2019, Zawandi was a regular feature at the West Indies Under 19 camps but could not quite crack the West Indies U19 World Cup squad for the 2020 ICC Under 19 World Cup in South Africa.

In summer 2021, Zawandi joined Shaw CC as they were promoted within the Greater Manchester League structure. Zawandi was excellent, bagging 52 wickets @ 16.71 with a best of 4-16 to go with 469 runs @ 23.45.

A passionate and enthusiastic cricketer, Zawandi is an athletic fielder and Cricket is simply a way of life for him. With no plan B, Zawandi is seeking to continue to progress his cricket and wants to spend another English summer playing good quality League Cricket as a platform to take his all-round game to the next level. His leadership qualities show in the way he goes about his approach to preparation and he will be a fantastic pick up for any UK club seeking a spin-bowling allrounder next summer.
