Dayyaan Galiem is an exciting prospect for South African Cricket, originally from Cape Town but now based in Pretoria, South Africa. A schoolboy star pegged for big things from an early age, Dayyaan was a dominant performer for his native Western Province from U13 level right through to the provincial U19 Coke Weeks. A right-handed Top Order Batsman, Dayyaan is also a high quality opening bowler, clocking in around the 80mph mark on a regular basis. He was impressively selected for the South African U19 team at just 16 following outstanding performances for Rondesbosch HS and the Western Province sides.

Making his provincial debut at 18 for Western Province at the 2015 Africa Cup, Dayyaan went on to become a regular in the Western Province and Cape Cobras sides following a fairly impressive South Africa U19 career, spanning 22 matches, 506 runs @ 33.73 and 22 wickets @ 29.90 and an U19 World Cup appearance in Bangladesh in 2016.

On return from the 2016 World Cup, Dayyaan was included in the SA Emerging Players side that took on the visiting Sri Lankan Emerging players and also the SA Universities side in a triangular tournament, with SA Emerging comfortably winning the series, losing just one game. He was also selected in the CSA Invitational XI to take on Zimbabwe in December 2017, scoring a quality 57 (54) before being dismissed by fellow WSX Client, Blessing Muzarabani.

Dayyaan joined Church CC in the Lancashire League at the start of the 2019 season for a short stint before returning for South Africa Emerging Players duty. He was well received by the playing group and showed glimpses of his ability in just 9 games with the club. He joined the Titans Franchise for summer 2019-20.

Having gone on to become one of South Africa’s most consistent and promising genuine seam-bowling all-rounders, Dayyaan is seeking a return to the UK next summer and will be a popular pick for any club seeking a high-quality new ball bowler that can bat anywhere in the order.
