Jake Egan is an adaptable top order batter who bowls very handy off-spin. He has the power to dominate any attack and the patience to bat long innings depending on the situation. After changing clubs in the off-season, Jake has started the 2022/23 season in good form with a career-best 1st-grade score of 89* for University in the WACA premier competition.
Jake bowls more than handy off-spin and has a career best-bowling of 4/27 in WACA 1st grade. Jake is a natural leader and deep thinker about the game and captained Bayswater-Morley Colts (21 & Under) to a premiership at just 18 years of age.
Seeking his first season in the UK in 2023, Jake headed to Northern Ireland, joining Carrickfergus CC in the Northern Cricket Union. He had a solid first up season with 486 runs with a best of 104. He chipped in with 15 wickets as well. Whilst the season was a little hit and miss, the Northern Knights picked him to make his Professional List A debut against the Munster Reds in August.
He returned to Carrickfergus in 2024 and also made is T20 debut for the Northern Knights, striking and impressive 161 runs at a SR of 151 in the domestic T20 competition. Club life was a bit tougher, with Carrickfergus unable to avoid the drop to Section 1.
He joined CIYMS for summer 2025 and switched to the North West Warriors in the domestic system. With lots of change afoot, he didn’t miss a beat, with over 1000 runs for the summer.
A good lad, Jake will be an excellent pick up for any club seeking top order reinforcement for next summer. Jake holds an Irish Passport.
