Jitesh Sharma is an explosive, Right-handed, Wicketkeeper/Batsman from the Central Indian city of Amravati. An exceptional gloveman with a penchant for taking a “worldy” and lightning quick hands, he started his domestic career with Vidarbha at U16 level and remains with his native state side having played all 3 formats for the senior side since his Professional debut in 2013-14

Originally an opening batter, Jitesh has been a regular for Vidarbha over the years, predominantly in white-ball cricket. As he progressed through the age groups, his ability to score very quickly stood out from others around him and in 2016 he was called in by the Mumbai Indians and spent the next two IPL campaigns with the powerhouse franchise.

Whilst unable to crack a starting spot in the IPL, Jitesh drifted in domestic cricket but in 2021-22, benefited from a change of tact from Vidarbha senior team management, who opted to mould him into a middle-order specialist “finisher” in T20 Cricket. Jitesh excelled, scoring 214 runs @ 53.50 with an incredible tournament strike rate of 236 in the Syed Ali Mushtaq Ali Trophy, finishing the tournament with the most 6’s.

Keen to head to the UK for the first time in 2023, Jitesh will be an outstanding pick up for any UK club that needs a brutal top order batsman for next summer that can take the gloves or even bowl a bit of occasional off-spin.
