Tanunurwa Makoni is a talented young Batsman from Zimbabwe. A quality Right-hander that is most comfortable opening the batting, Tanu does bowl a bit of part time right-arm medium pace. A promising junior who represented Zimbabwe at U19 level from the age of 17, Tanu appeared for the Chevrons at the 2018 U19 World Cup hosted by New Zealand in early 2018 having already played a handful of games against Namibia and for the Zimbabwe Cubs in the Cricket South Africa Cubs Week in early 2017.

Having aged out of youth cricket, Tanu was handed a debut for the Rangers Franchise in the 2019-20 Logan Cup. After a steady start, a switch to the Tuskers Franchise saw his game evolve and has been a genuine contributor for the Franchise since his arrival with 789 runs @ 31.56 with a best of 129 (166) coming in his 3rd game for his new side.

After a solid finish to the 2021-22 season, Tanu was selected to play for the Northerns Region in the selection trials for the national side. His good form carried in to the start of the 2022-23 season with 199 runs @ 33.16 in the first few games of the red ball season. His performances saw him selected to face the West Indies in February in two test matches.

Seeking his first season in the UK in 2024, Tanu will be a good pick up for any club seeking a top order batsman for next summer that has plenty of upward curve and hunger to keep piling on the runs.
